Meet George & Barbra Crown

George Crown is a professional artist and illustrator, specializing in watercolor painting.  George received his BA degree from Principia College and his master's and Fine Arts degrees at Bowling Green State University. After graduation, he worked briefly at Fremont, Ohio High School as an art instructor.  In 1978, Edison State Community College in Piqua, Ohio hired him. During his 17 years of tenure at Edison, he was a full-time professor of art and head of the art department.  He taught watercolor painting, drawing, Art History, and photography. His paintings are in private homes all over the country and he has won numerous awards for his watercolor paintings. In 1991 he and his wife Barbara purchased a retail resort business on Harsen’s Island, Michigan. They ran The Waterfront Shoppe and Crown Gallery for 25 years. In 2021 they retired to Anderson, South Carolina, and George is enjoying the new environments of lakes and mountains and the coastal cities.
